Hôtel Mercure La Rochelle Vieux-port

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The location is superb, lovely views of the harbour, easy flat walk to numerous shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, footpaths, cycling routes, safe barrier controlled parking (payable locally). Beautiful hotel, contemporary, recently refurbished it is immaculately kept and all the staff are so welcoming, helpful, friendly and professional. Excellent choice at breakfast, a very nice relaxing way to start the day overlooking the harbour. Also, for those who need it, there was good choice of gluten free bread and even gluten free pain au chocolat. We had standard rooms (numbers 330, 332 overlooking the pool area) that were perfect for our short stay although storage space is minimal - it could be a problem if you were staying longer. Larger rooms are available and we presume there would be more storage. The rooms are also very well sound proofed; you cannot hear any noise from other rooms or the corridor. Excellent decor, very clean, extremely comfortable bed. We are already planning a return trip to La Rochelle, the town and people are lovely, and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of the historic harbour. We only stayed one night. Very comfortable bed and pleasant room. The hotel is adjacent to the aquarium, private parking is available at the hotel for guests. Excellent and very helpful staff, helping us to retrieve a lost iPad from a sister hotel in Rouen . Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in La Rochelle.
